Your poem resonates sister. Well done! Printed it up and added it to my pile of poetry inspiration! I truly feel it is a time of thawing, yes, yes, yes.

You got at least one new subscriber from this post! I'm officially post-menopausal last week. I struggle with this lack of capacity--I almost feel, I don't know, shame for it? But sometimes I feel empowered by this shift (a lot of different feelings). I like your metaphor of thawing out; I've been doing a lot of that. Thank you for this post!

Hi there, Jen. First off, thank you for reading and commenting. Makes my day. And WELCOME TO THIS SIDE OF MENOPAUSE! It's been almost 2 years for me, but still processing everything. I will be writing and speaking about capacity more this spring and summer. Looking forward to connecting more with you.

I had to read just to find out which Indigo Girls song... 😁

So many of their lyrics have made me think more deeply about life and the way we move through the world.

Ah! Yes! I first this song on a school bus 🚌 with my friend right before my freshman year at a new school. I’ll never forget it.

Love it... 💕

I also love "All That We Let In" ... it has been my northstar as an HSP. 😊
